Testimonials for 'Healing with The Herd'
Carolyn Simpson (January 2016)
Situated in one of the most beautiful areas in Saddleworth 'The Haven' is just what the name suggests. Looking all around the hills, look down on the herd of horses roaming freely in this safe place, the energy from the land draws you in.
From the moment I arrived I could feel the power of the herd; working together, moving around, guided by Helen, they can tap into hidden memories that need healing. The technique they use releases you, leaving you with a feeling of tranquility and inner calm. Even after one session you know life to be on a different level.
The link between the horses, nature and the land leave you with an all round sense of well being as you become one. This, for me, was a beautiful experience of which I would recommend to anyone.
Maggie Dickenson (November 2015)
I started my healing journey in 1989 and over that period have met several significant people who have helped me. After 13 years of talk based therapies I was able to intellectualize my traumatic childhood experience, but the feelings were still lodged in my body. So I moved on to do bodywork; Thai massage, Rolfing, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Kinesiology and finally Reiki.
In addition I took part in several workshops that offered techniques for releasing emotions, such as Emotional Freedom Technique and others based on the teachings of Byron Katie, Brandon Baize and Carl Jung.
I have supported my physical and mental health with yoga, Bach flowers, homeopathy and herbs together with an exhaustive list of self-help books. All these 'tools' were helpful in their own way but I still could not rid myself of the deep seated fear I felt which was lodged somewhere within my psyche.
That is, until I experienced 'Healing with The Herd' which touched me at a soul level. The healing is deep yet gentle, it is non-invasive, non-judgemental and so easy!
I stood in silence and stillness with the beautiful Ginger (a 14.1hh 23 year old New Forest bred pony) and he did the rest. Helen facilitated, explaining to me when Ginger went from being a horse to a healer, showing me indicators such as the softness of his eyes, the position of his ears and his breathing.
I felt a connection with him, occasionally I felt the urge to take a deep breath in and out and experienced a great sense of letting go. Everyone is unique and will experience the healing in a different way.
I sincerely hope that what I have written will encourage people to take, what was for me, the final step of my healing journey.
